IS NOW UNDERWAY!
Help our LST Memorial stay afloat by buying our fund-raising raffle tickets, and by selling them to your friends, coworkers and neighbors. The Grand Prize is an absolutely magnificent museum-quality LST model that's over four feet in length! (See details at right.) This will grace the home of someone who's proud to be a member of the LST family and community. All proceeds, of course, go toward the restoration effort with absolutely no administrative overhead -- virtually all of the work is being handled by volunteers. These desperately needed funds will help our dream become a reality, and you'll see your newly-refurbished ship gracing the waters of Mobile Bay in September. The drawing will be held at the Annual Convention of The US LST Association, being held this year in Mobile, AL, September 18-24. The drawing itself will take place September 23rd at 8:00 p.m. during the banquet. |
THE GRAND PRIZE Museum-quality LST model or $500.00 in cash! * Click on the image above for a more detailed photo. This stunning museum-quality LST model is huge (over four feet in length) and features exquisite detail. It's valued at over $1,000.00. It was custom built and donated to the USS LST Ship Memorial by our very own Jerry Howe (LST-1148). The ship itself is approximately 42 in. long, 6.5 in. wide and 14 in. high. When enclosed in its customized plexiglass case, the overall measurements are approximately 49.5 in. long, 18 in. wide and 18 in. high. What a trophy! Click here to see progress on this model LST while it was being built ... you'll be absolutely amazed. Thanks, Jerry! * Winner need

WITH POSTERS! We now have posters available (in several different formats) to help you boost your ticket sales. These can be posted with merchants, restaurants, in your workplace, at speaking engagements, etc. A space is provided to include your name and phone number so that you can be contacted locally for ticket sales. The first one was designed by Jen Wenger, the daughter of Jerry Howe (who, of course, built this fine model). You can load it into your graphics program, specify the dimensions for printing, and run off as many copies as you like. The second poster is in Adobe Acrobat format, and may be used either at home, or by a commercial printer. It comes in two preset sizes: 8½" x 11" and 11" x 14". If you'd like a custom size made, please email the WebSkipper. Note: Clicking on your desired selection will display it on your computer, after which you will need to save it to a file. If you hold down your shift key before clicking on the selection, you can save it directly to a file. |
