Black & white print of a photograph showing LST–397 on an unidentified beach in the South Pacific. The ship does not appear to have any vehicles on the main deck, though a great deal of cargo can be seen in the foreground on shore. A number of other landing craft and ships can be seen in the photograph as well including an LCM (Landing Craft. Mechanized) and two LCVPs on the beach beside LST–397, and LCM on a different piece of shoreline behind them, and two LCIs (Landing Craft, Infantry), an LST, and other unidentified craft further out in the bay. The ship's name/number is stamped in gold text at the bottom and "Our Navy Photos, Brooklyn, N.Y. 11217" is printed in the bottom right corner.
