Evansville Wartime Museum

Established in 2017, the Evansville Wartime Museum uses a variety of artifacts and displays to show the extent of the war effort in Evansville and the incredible stories of the people who made it all happen. A couple of special highlights are a restored P-47 Thunderbolt fighter plane as well as a Higgins boat from the USS LST-325. Located right next to the Evansville Regional Airport on US-41.

Children's Museum of EVansville

Also referred to as cMoe, the children's museum breaks all of the formal rules of a regular museum: EVERYTHING is hands on! Children can climb, explore and learn through play as they begin to investigate the world around them and themselves. Located in the heart of downtown Evansville, just minutes from the USS LST-325.

Evansville Museum of Arts, Science & History

The Evansville Museum has a wide variety of artifacts and exhibits on a range of topics pertinent to the telling of the story of Evansville, from transportation history to science and much more in-between! The museum also features planetarium shows and traveling exhibits. The museum is located just a few blocks away from the USS LST-325 on Riverside Drive.

Mesker Park zoo

Who DOESN'T love a fun day at the zoo? The Mesker Park Zoo & Botanical Gardens is a wonderful 75-acre paradise teeming with wildlife from all over the world! Over 700 animals representing 186 species can't wait for you and the whole family to come and visit! One of their newest attractions is the Penguins of Patagonia. The zoo and the botanical gardens are both located just off of Mesker Park Drive, less than a 10 minute drive from the USS LST-325.

Indiana Military Museum

This museum has something for EVERY type of military history buff. The Indiana Military Museum's extensive collection features artifacts from the Civil War up to modern day conflicts including the Iraqi War. The museum has both inside and outside exhibits, so be sure to dress accordingly. The museum is located in Vincennes, Indiana, a little over an hour drive from the USS LST-325.


Also, be advised that the time zone changes from Central to Eastern (1 hour ahead of Evansville) so be sure to plan accordingly on that end also.
